I have been lazy lately about getting my posts up. I have about a dozen pending, but things are getting in the way........until today. Have you ever heard news that made your jaw drop? I guess that is a rhetorical question because I am sure most everyone has. Be that as it may, there is breaking news about Iran having a second nuclear facility; one designed specifically to produce enriched, (bomb grade) uranium.
To those of us that are professionally skeptical, this comes as no surprise. What did surprise me is the revelation that His Majesty, Barack MMMMmmm.....MMMMmmmm. MMMMmmm. Hussein Obama has known about this for some time. Say what? The news breaking indicates that the U.S. has known about this second site for at least two weeks. What's more, this information was not shared with (at least France) our allies. Why?
The information was squelched because Obama didn't want his address to the United Nations marred by any surprises. He was dead set to talk in flowery terms on nuclear disarmament while the enemy was building its deadly arsenal. What does a right thinking American think about such a thing? The government muzzling the news so as to look better when preaching Kumbayah? France's Sarkozy is reportedly furious over the matter. But for us normal Americans it raises all kinds of issues. What got in the way of the disclosure? How the president looks? How it affects his planned message?
From this man's perspective, it underscores the dangerously inflated ego, and to quote France's Sarkozy, an equally dangerous "naivety" about what the world is. Now, I am all for the Rodney King "why can't we all get along" stuff, but there is a proper time and place. The world has grown rough and tough and Obama is still playing with dolls. Until the bullies are gone from the world, Obama's message is perilous and stupid. Our allies and enemies alike are coming to the same conclusion. Our president is so far out there in la-la land, I think he must have been a Heaven's Gate'r left behind. I only wish he'd hitched a ride with the Hailey Bopp comet, then we would have some sanity in our foreign relations.
But I have to be fair, right? I heard a caller on Sean Hannity's show today who asked; "what do we have to fear from Iran?", meaning why do we concern ourselves with the nuclear processing there? Why should we Americans even think of being involved? As Sean regurgitated his pre-programmed talking point loop I was incredulous. Sean dutifully recited the dangers to Israel, the stability of the Middle East and by extension U.S. interests. But he completely dropped the ball. The problem with Iran enriching uranium has to do with the ultimate destination of the fissile material. Tehran will not keep all of it's enriched uranium in country. You can bet a steady stream will find itself in rogue nuclear weapons and "dirty bombs" in Tel Aviv and major cities around the globe. Goal? Simultaneous detonation and the crash of Western Culture. Never mind that vast swaths of the world be rendered uninhabitable by radioactive material. The mullahs are not sane. So how long can we suffer his Majesty's naivety? Come on 2010.

Bite Size is Good!
I have often wondered why Washington is obsessed with gargantuan sized legislation. Why not try some bite sized lawmaking? It seems that whenever we turn around there is some 700 to 1,500 page law being fought over in either house. Not only does the sheer size of these bills increase the rankling, no one can take the time to read them. Wouldn't it be wonderful to take a bill and break it down into segments of say, 200-300 pages. Not only would there be no excuse not to read them, but with the extra time, the issues could be fully debated and considered. There would be higher quality legislation produced and a much higher chance for bipartisan participation. Cut the pie into reasonable slices and there'll be a piece for everyone.Take health care for instance. Couldn't this monster be carved into meaningful pieces? Why not tackle tort reform first? Nearly everyone can agree that the cost of defensive medicine is a key element in the high cost of health care in America. Shave a piece off that deals with portability of policies across state lines. Shave off another piece that deals with pre-existing conditions. None of these things interferes with our current system but at some point you'll have enough pieces out there to make a whole pie. In the meantime, our senators and congressmen will have some actual achievements under their belts, rather than a year's worth of bickering and conflict. Approval ratings for congress will rise and something will have been done for the good of all Americans. This pen thinks the pols should go back to the drawing board and start cutting the cake.

Let Not the Honduran Constitution Go Quietly
Down in Central America a quiet drama is being played out in Honduras. The president of Honduras, Manuel Zalaya, was expelled by the Supreme Court of the country and the legislature for attempting to change his term limits by referendum. The Honduran constitution Article 239 states; "Anyone who violates this provision or who proposes its reform, as well as those who support that violation directly or indirectly, will immediately cease to hold their respective positions, and will be disqualified from any public post for 10 years.Despite what appears to be clear language preventing power grabs that seem to have been invented in Latin America, the forces of the Left in the United States and others in the U.N. have circled the wagons to get the would-be dictator back into power. President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton along with their good buddy Hugo Chavez of Venezuela are doing their damndest to dislodge the interim government. The full court press is on for the U.N. to deliver a resolution condemning Honduras for protecting itself from despotism. Uh, wait a minute, I thought we were supposed to be for the guys protecting their constitution. But such is the leftist psychosis in Washington. I don't know how many of you listen to Denis Prager, but God Bless him for broadcasting his radio show from Honduras in a show of solidarity with the Honduran people by right thinking people here in the states. Conservatives are wary that the Sol Alinski, Hugo Chavez path to power will be taking place here.
Why? How could that be? I have said it before, by removing the Honduran legislative, judicial and military insurrection from public sight, Obama and company preserve their own paths to ultimate power here in the U.S.. Hugo Chavez would have been stopped in his tracks if the Venezuelans had taken the same steps as Honduras. But they did not and hence we have another tin-pot dictator in Latin America. Some of the amazing bounty Chavez has produced for his country is a shrinking free press, arbitrary jailings, nationalization of industry and private property and a warping of the constitution and democracy that has made him de facto president for life. Remember this is the same Hugo Chavez that Jimmy Carter and Sean Penn adore. The same Hugo Chavez that is trying to become a nuclear buddy with Russia and is buying huge amounts of arms and weaponry to destabilize the balance of power in the region. The American people can ill afford to have these leftist governments popping up in the Southern hemisphere and supported by the barrel of a gun.
The American people also cannot afford to let the Venezuelan chain of events happen here. Obama was scarcely elected when Kool Aid drinking legislators were talking about removing term limits for the U.S. presidency. It is no great stretch of reason that if the Cult of Obama reached critical mass we could have that push take place again. The so-called Fairness Doctrine and versions of it, which dramatically reduce freedom of speech, are still looming out there as Democrats sting from the lash of conservative radio. Our U.S. government has effectively nationalized parts of the auto and banking industry. The Venezuelan template is coming true inside our borders. The possibility that we have begun the slide into a leftist authoritarian state is very real. I hope and pray that our system of checks and balances will survive further erosion (and Democratic control) and keep us from the abyss. Were our nation confronted with a usurper like Zelaya in Honduras, I would hope our military, legislature and judicial powers would step forward to protect our freedoms and constitution.

The Fly Who Won't Leave The Picnic
Well the worst president in the history of the United States is at it again, buzzing around and suggesting that resistance to Obama's policies are racial blowback. Did anyone bring a can of Raid? It wasn't enough that Carter nearly destroyed our economy during his tenure. Now he's out shilling for Hugo Chavez and extolling the virtues of murderous Palestinian extremists. What's next? Oh we have that. Now America, the America that elected a black president, is somehow resisting this same president's wise agenda because he is black. No Jimmy; it's because Obama is wrong; like you were wrong and just like the rest of you liberal bozos are wrong wanting to take this country down the road to socialism.
Hauling out the race card is the worst thing you could do for the country at this time. But why should I be reminding a former president? A president who's oath was to protect and defend the constitution and our way of life. I don't think Carter or Obama believe that oath. They want to reinvent America into a quasi-communist utopia and Americans are saying "NO" .....BIG TIME.
But there is a method to Carter's madness. He not just another bleeding heart wracked by White Guilt. He still has politician in him. Carter realizes that this whole Obama-liberal thing is blowing up. He is doing what his ilk has been trained to do throughout their career when their ideas don't wash. Deflect, deflect, deflect. What better shield than race? It generates sympathy for the purported victim. It raises ire. It uses hate to motivate to action. That's what's really happening here. You may think of Carter as an old dodderer, and he is. But I think he is enjoying stirring this pot from his throne of irrelevance.
The problem is, and always will be, the consequences. If Carter helps polarize America along race lines it is bad for everyone. Bad for America. But the administration is in a place it doesn't want to be in the fight for the hearts and minds of Americans. The administration is losing this fight because of its failed economic strategy and black-hole spending. The Democrats are showing themselves uniquely unqualified to lead, but rather than galvanizing the legislature, with ideas coming in from both sides of the aisle, for the good of America, they seem committed to a doomsday scenario whose trigger is "race".

Joe Bastardi on Global Warming Fanaticism
Some things are best left to the experts. Anyone who has heard the hype, and believes it, should listen to this segment. No matter what you think about Bill O'Reilly the facts stand for themselves. Enjoy this and be sure to remind the Green Kool Aid drinkers you run into next. The Global Warming Hoax cannot be used to enslave us to more taxes and to make Al Gore rich.

We Told You So-the GM and Chrysler Black Hole
For all of you that resist the temptation to have government bail out companies (of any size) in favor of free market solutions.....rejoice! After being called all kinds of names for not going along with His Majesty's decision to bail out banks and auto companies we hear today from the Congressional Oversight Panel that the taxpayers are likely never to see some of the bailout money come back from Chrysler or Government Motors. According to a Washington Post Article and Fox News interview with Dr. Elizabeth Warren, the panel chairperson, the taxpayer money NOT invested in equities of the two companies will likely not be repaid. Oh really.
This oversight committee is comprised of some pretty heavy hitters from Harvard and other Ivy League schools and the like (if you put a lot of credence in their smarts). It is also non-partisan. Based on my viewing of the interview with the panel's Dr. Warren it would seem that the efforts of the panel were well meaning and un-biased. All the findings of the committee were wrapped up in oh.....200 pages or so. At least the report is readable, unlike some health care legislation I know of.
What remains to be seen is if the current administration will apologize for leading us into another Republican "I told You So" moment. How many more times are these Obamanation nit wits going to skewer the taxpayers and voters for their negligence and slavery to the unions.....and do you really believe the bailout has ended? Will the government step in to save the unions again when the public refuses to buy Der Kommisar's autos? That will be a cat fight. Just remember, it is wrong to tamper with the free market, no matter how painful in the short run, and always will be. Hey liberals.....we told you so.

Take Advice from California?
Copy of a letter mailed to Congresspersons Lynn Woolsey of California. My daddy always told me to look at a guys track record before trusting them with your money. Guess that doesn't apply to politics. September 7, 2009.

RE: Federal Health Care Legislation
Dear Ms. Woolsey:
I saw your brief piece on Fox News the other day in which you stated that if the president does not come out with a health care plan that has a "robust" public option that you and your fellow liberals would feel like you weren't being listened to. I sincerely hope the president doesn't listen to you.
I am sorry, but I had to laugh at the news. You and your liberal counterparts in the California state legislature, with your stranglehold on the voting masses and your unholy ties to unions across this state have led us into virtual bankruptcy. I presume you want your "public option" health care vote in Washington to propagate the California malaise nationwide by cheering on a public health care program that is sure to bust the federal treasury; just as your colleagues' policies in the state legislature have done.
People are waking up to this striking lack of judgment on the part of their legislators.Following after failed spending programs with blind partisanship and looking to soak the so-called rich for those failures is not working. I hope you are comfortable in your district and can keep the voters asleep, lest some well spoken Republican or Independent come along and unseat you. Do what's good for all Americans and stop trying to grow a feckless government in Washington.
Break down health care reform into little bite sized chunks that make sense, and please, start with tort reform.
Sincerely,
William W. Bock Jr

A "Thumb in the Eye" for California Voters
Nowhere in the 50 contiguous states is this more evident than in California. We are lucky to have term limits here, although the power-hungry nitwits are trying to take that apart too. Time and time again the legislators here have "risen above" the will of the people and second guessed the dictates of democracy and honest elections.
Take for instance "Drivers Licenses for Illegal Aliens". Legislation and propositions have been introduced time and time again, only to be defeated each time. It is in insult to the intelligence of the electorate that we would have to waste time to relive things that have already decided. Yet one or two folks with too much taxpayer paid time on their hands have decided they know better and will keep at the voters until they capitulate through apathy and lack of information.
Anyone familiar with California politics knows that the State is governed by the Northern section which is highly populated with liberal thinkers (an oxymoron). This stranglehold remains in place due to the largess of the California treasury which is relentlessly tapped for money that is not there to provide outrageous benefits to state employees and fiscally irresponsible protections for union members. Meanwhile the State continues to see an exodus of producers and businesses who are tired of being bled. As a result California is bankrupt.
Well, those same Democratic politicians who bankrupt the state, at the lash of the Homosexual lobby, had a little spare time on their hands. Despite Californian's rejection to same-sex marriage; Proposition 20 in 2000 passed with 62% of the vote; and Proposition 8 in 2008 that amended the constitution to define marriage as a union between one man and one woman, that passed with 52% of the vote, our esteemed legislators found the time to pass a resolution. Well the resolution was directed at the federal government with the intent to SUPPORT same-sex marriages. Support???? When over 50% of the electorate in your own state have told you time and time again they don't want this? The elevation of the legislators above the will of the people is treasonous. If this is the way that our democracy will continue to go on, then we have lost it. As I have been promoting all along there needs to be a radical change in the so-called leaders we currently have serving us (supposedly). The acid test for anyone seeking public office is their pledge to abide by the will of the people. If we can't find these guys and gals, then we need to find a new way to govern.

Anatomy of a Demonstration
Here on the RIGHT are festive people upset about the expansion of government, erosion of freedom and the rampantly increasing federal debt. Here are the everyday people that Nancy Pelosi called Nazis and other elected representatives called "moron", "anti-American" and "loonie". Remember this my friend, these are the images of the real revolution back to the precepts of the Founding Fathers. Long may it reign. Here on the LEFT are the fanatics that drank their Kool Aid this morning and support everyone's God given right for health care, regardless to the cost in dollars and freedom. These are the Soros crowd who's mantra is "To Each According to Need, From Each According to Ability". Notice the slick pre-produced signs, really sincere and committed.......for a buck.
I Yield the Floor to Congressman Mke Rogers of Michigan
Once and a while you come across something that really rings out and no amount of additional commentary can do it justice. Such is the case of Congressman Mike Rogers' address to the Waxman committee on so-called Health Care Reform. Thanks to a fellow conservative Tea Party activist for bringing this to my attention. With very little time and very efficient words, Rep. Rogers lays it all out about the health care debate. I challenge anyone to defeat the logic of his words. At the end of the video you should be convinced that government sponsored health care is not good, but patently evil. Any congressman or senator who knowingly advances the cause of health care reform as currently proposed, I would argue is criminally negligent and a modern day Benedict Arnold.
Watch and enjoy a breath of fresh air.
